Fulham’s star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic is reportedly determined to depart the club this summer, even if his proposed move to Al-Hilal doesn’t materialize.
The West London club has already rejected two offers from the Saudi Pro League side, with the latest bid standing at £40m.
Feeling frustrated by Fulham’s refusal to entertain Al Hilal’s advances, Mitrovic has allegedly made it clear that he has no intention of ever representing the club again.
The Saudi Arabian side has enticed the Serbian forward with a highly attractive contract offer that would see his weekly wages triple to an impressive £120,000.
While Mitrovic had spent some time away from the squad, Fulham manager Marco Silva confirmed that the talented forward is back in training.
Nonetheless, the player remains resolute in his desire to secure a move away from Craven Cottage, and he’s open to exploring other options if the Al-Hilal transfer falls through.
Fulham is holding out for a fee of approximately £50m for Mitrovic, but Al-Hilal appears unwilling to meet this valuation, leading to an impasse in negotiations.
The 27-year-old striker had a prolific season last term, scoring 14 goals in 24 Premier League games, playing a key role in helping Fulham secure a respectable top-half finish.
Since his arrival at the club in 2018, Mitrovic has notched an impressive 111 goals in 205 appearances across all competitions.
As Mitrovic seeks his exit, Fulham has already turned their attention to strengthen their forward line by acquiring Raul Jimenez from Wolverhampton Wanderers. Jimenez made his debut for the club in Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to Chelsea during the final match of the Premier League summer series.
Furthermore, defender Calvin Bassey, a new addition from Ajax in a €21m (£18m) deal last week, made his first appearance in a Fulham shirt.
The Cottagers will conclude their pre-season preparations with a fixture against German side Hoffenheim at Craven Cottage on Saturday before focusing on their Premier League opener against Everton on August 12.
