Reports suggest that Jadon Sancho’s time at Manchester United is nearing its conclusion, with the attacker looking to depart Old Trafford when the January transfer window opens.
While Borussia Dortmund seems to be the frontrunner for the 23-year-old, Barcelona and Juventus are also closely monitoring his situation.
Sancho’s absence from the United lineup dates back to the end of August, a fallout with Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag stemming from his omission against Arsenal.
Ten Hag cited poor training performances for Sancho’s exclusion, a claim the player refuted on social media.
Despite this dispute, Sancho has found himself sidelined from the first team entirely.
It appears that he has not been willing to make amends with his manager, and the relationship between the two appears beyond repair.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has stated that Sancho’s time at Manchester United is “90% over,” and the club is open to exploring transfer opportunities in January.
According to Romano, a permanent transfer would be preferable, but the club may consider a loan deal with a buy option.
The challenge, however, lies in finding a top-class European club willing to pay between £50 million and £55 million.
While the situation could change, as of now, it seems highly likely that Jadon Sancho will seek a new club during the January transfer window.
Manchester United is reportedly open to the idea of an 18-month loan deal, and Borussia Dortmund is reportedly interested in re-signing him under these terms.
Since joining Manchester United in the summer of 2021, Sancho has managed only 12 goals and six assists in 82 appearances for the 20-time English champions. His future in the Premier League now hangs in the balance.
