Antony’s Agent Criticizes Manchester United Boss Ruben Amorim

Junior Pedroso, the agent of Manchester United winger Antony, has publicly criticized the club’s head coach, Ruben Amorim, for his comments regarding Antony’s performance at Old Trafford.

The Brazilian winger, who joined Real Betis on loan in January, has been performing well in Spain, scoring three goals and providing two assists in seven appearances.

Amorim attributed Antony’s struggles at Manchester United to a lack of physicality, stating, “Antony is so much better now in Spain. It’s [because of] a lot of factors, but I guarantee you it’s physicality”.

However, Pedroso strongly disagreed with this assessment, calling it “a very superficial argument and out of touch with reality”.

Pedroso argued that Antony’s lack of success at Manchester United was due to insufficient playing time and a lack of confidence from the coaching staff.

He pointed out that Antony only played 252 minutes in nine out of the 15 games managed by Amorim, representing just 18.6% of the total possible minutes. “How can you judge a player without a minimum sequence that demonstrates his worth?” Pedroso questioned.

The agent also criticized Amorim’s comments for devaluing LaLiga and the Spanish competitions, emphasizing that Spanish football is highly competitive and features top-level teams that regularly compete in the final stages of the Champions League and Europa League.

Pedroso highlighted Antony’s successful adaptation to Real Betis, where he has become one of the best players in the team and the competition.

Antony remains focused on his performances at Real Betis, with the club expressing interest in making his stay permanent. The Brazilian winger is contracted with Manchester United until June 2027.
