Bayern Munich is stepping up its efforts to secure the services of English striker Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur in the current transfer window.
As reported by The Telegraph, the German champions have already made two bids for Kane, and both clubs are gearing up for renewed negotiations.
Bayern’s top brass, Chief Executive Jan-Christian Dreesen, and Technical Director Marco Neppe, are en route to London for face-to-face discussions with Tottenham officials.
However, the scheduled Friday meeting has encountered a slight delay and is now slated for Monday.
In the quest to entice Tottenham into accepting the deal, Bayern possesses a trump card – 18-year-old attacking prodigy Mathys Tel.
This young talent has garnered comparisons to French superstar Kylian Mbappe and boasts an impressive record of six goals in 28 appearances for Bayern.
Notably, Tottenham has shown interest in Tel during the summer, making him a potential sweetener in the Harry Kane transfer pursuit. Yet, whether Tel aligns with Thomas Tuchel’s future plans remains uncertain.
Tuchel, the manager of Bayern Munich, stated that any decisions concerning Tel’s future will be discussed late in the transfer window.
On the other side of the negotiations, Harry Kane, currently partaking in Tottenham’s pre-season tour, seems open to the prospect of joining Bayern Munich.
Despite PSG’s interest in the England captain, Kane reportedly prefers a move to Bayern over a transfer to France.
To secure Kane’s services, Bayern is willing to offer a substantial sum, with reports suggesting a bid of up to £86 million.
With only a year remaining on his current contract with Spurs, Kane’s transfer value remains high, but Bayern may also wait until January to secure him at a potentially reduced cost.
