Manchester United goalkeeper, Dean Henderson, has yet to sign for Nottingham Forest due to an ongoing injury.
The 26-year-old suffered a torn thigh midway through his loan spell at the City Ground last season. After undergoing surgery in May, he has been gradually returning to light training at Man Utd’s Carrington base.
Although Henderson managed only 20 appearances during the 2022-23 campaign, Nottingham Forest has expressed a keen interest in securing him on a permanent basis this summer. However, a deal has not been finalized due to the severity of his thigh issue.
While Henderson has been making steady progress in training, there are concerns that the rigorous medical examination required by Forest could potentially worsen his injury.
As a result, Manchester United is reluctant to risk any further setbacks for their talented academy graduate and has not yet given the green light for the transfer.
Both parties have agreed to wait until Henderson has completely recovered before proceeding with the deal. Although no specific timeline has been provided for his recovery, Nottingham Forest aims to reach an agreement towards the end of the transfer window.
In other transfer news, Nottingham Forest is on the verge of signing Matt Turner from Arsenal. The club is set to acquire the USA international for a fee of £7 million, with an additional £3 million in add-ons. Turner has already completed his medical at the City Ground, signaling his imminent arrival.
