Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has reached a verbal agreement to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad, according to multiple reports.
The Brazilian shot-stopper is open to a move to Saudi Arabia this summer.
Al-Ittihad have made the same offer to Ederson that their rivals Al-Nassr did earlier in the transfer window, which would make him the highest-paid goalkeeper in the world if accepted.
However, negotiations over Ederson’s transfer fee are still ongoing between the clubs.
Manchester City have rejected an offer from Al-Nassr for Ederson, believed to be around £25 million.
The Premier League champions are holding out for a fee of at least £40 million to part ways with the 30-year-old this summer.
Pep Guardiola has admitted he is unsure if Ederson will stay at Manchester City beyond the transfer deadline.
The City boss has told his goalkeeper he wants him to remain at the club, but acknowledged Ederson may have to “see other options”.
If Ederson does leave the Etihad, Manchester City have highlighted two potential replacements.
Sunderland’s Anthony Patterson and former City academy star James Trafford, who is currently at Burnley, are on the club’s radar.
Stefan Ortega would likely be promoted to the number one role if Ederson departs, having impressed in his 20 appearances last season.
City are also keen to bring in a backup goalkeeper to challenge Ortega.
Al-Ittihad are also reportedly interested in signing Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, but the Belgian has not agreed personal terms with the Saudi club.
De Bruyne is in the final year of his contract at City and could be available on a free transfer next summer.
The Saudi Pro League side are expected to complete the signing of Aston Villa winger Moussa Diaby next week in a deal worth around £50 million.
