Fenerbahce will be aiming to maintain their winning streak in the Turkish Super Lig season when they host Istanbul Basaksehir at Sukru Saracoglu Stadium on Thursday.
Fenerbahce has won all five of their league games so far, conceding only three goals in the process, resulting in a joint-best defensive record in the league.
On the other hand, Istanbul Basaksehir is visibly struggling this season, having lost four out of their five matches.
The Yellow Canaries are unbeaten in all twelve of their games across all competitions this season, resulting in three Europa Conference League qualifying rounds before securing a 3-1 victory over Nordsjaelland in the competition’s main round last week.
With an average of 2.75 goals per game and a total of 33 goals scored in their 12 victories this term, Fenerbahce is expected to crush the struggling Istanbul Basaksehir even more.
Even though Istanbul Basaksehir grabbed a victory against Istanbulspor following the international break, they swiftly returned to losing ways after facing Galatasaray last weekend.
As a result, the Grey Owls are currently occupying the relegation zone with only three points in five games.
Moreover, they have failed to score in three consecutive losses against Alnyaspor, Fatih Karagumruk, and Konyaspor, while only netting three goals in total during this season.
Fenerbahce will be without Lincoln, who is still injured and has not played since March, and their key forward Emre Mor, who is still sidelined with a muscle issue.
Meanwhile, Istanbul Basaksehir’s Edgar Ie and Patryk Szysz are also expected to miss out due to their respective injuries.
