Crystal Palace Eyeing Surprise Move for Free Agent Eden Hazard
Crystal Palace is reportedly considering a surprising transfer move for Belgian footballer Eden Hazard, who recently departed Real Madrid.
The Spanish giants agreed to end Hazard’s contract a year earlier than planned due to his lack of playing time.
While there have been rumors linking Hazard to the MLS or even retirement, FootballTransfers suggests that Palace could offer him a one-year deal on a pay-as-you-play basis.
The Eagles are aware of the player’s past fitness issues but believe he still has potential. During his time at Chelsea, Hazard was considered one of the Premier League’s best players, impressing between 2012 and 2019 before joining Real Madrid.
However, his spell in Spain saw him struggle to reach peak form, managing only seven goals and 12 assists in 76 appearances across all competitions.
Fulham Expresses Interest in Eric Dier from Tottenham Hotspur
As the summer transfer window nears its closure, Fulham has reportedly made contact with Tottenham Hotspur regarding a potential deal for Eric Dier.
The 29-year-old Englishman’s future has been the subject of much speculation, and a move away from Spurs seems likely.
Sky Sports News reveals that Fulham has approached Tottenham, showing confidence in their ability to secure an agreement for the midfielder.
Dier joined Tottenham from Sporting Lisbon in 2014 and has since represented the London club in 361 appearances across all competitions.
Although he played regularly during the 2022-23 season, featuring in 42 matches, he has not been involved in the team’s early fixtures this season.
While a loan move is possible, Dier’s contract at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium expires next June, making a permanent transfer more favorable for Ange Postecoglou’s side.
Southampton Targets Ben Johnson for Defensive Reinforcement
Southampton is reportedly eager to sign West Ham United defender Ben Johnson before the transfer window closes. The Saints are seeking a replacement for Tino Livramento, who recently joined Newcastle United.
Football Insider reveals that Southampton has already made contact with West Ham regarding a possible acquisition of the 23-year-old full-back.
Johnson, who has been an unused substitute in the early stages of the Premier League this season, has a contract with West Ham until next summer.
With 87 appearances to his name for the Hammers, including 55 in the Premier League, Johnson could provide the defensive reinforcement that Southampton desires.
It’s worth noting that Southampton and West Ham have already conducted business this summer, with James Ward-Prowse moving to the London Stadium and Flynn Downes joining the Saints on loan.
