Juventus Terminate Contract with Troubled Midfielder Paul Pogba

Italian giants Juventus have announced the mutual termination of Paul Pogba’s contract, effective November 30, 2024. The former Manchester United star’s tumultuous second stint in Turin has come to an abrupt end.

Pogba, 31, rejoined Juventus in 2022 on a free transfer after leaving United. However, his time back in Serie A was plagued by injury and controversy. In March 2023, the French international was hit with a four-year doping ban after elevated testosterone levels were detected in his system.

Though the ban was later reduced to 18 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, the damage was done. Juventus manager Thiago Motta recently admitted that the club now views Pogba as “past the peak of his career.”

In a statement, Juventus said: “Juventus Football Club and Paul Pogba announce that they have reached a mutual agreement for the termination of their contract as of 30 November, 2024. The club wishes Paul the very best for his professional future.”

Pogba, for his part, expressed gratitude for his time with the club. “My time at Juventus has come to an end. It has been a privilege to pull on the shirt of the bianconeri and to share so many special moments,” he said.

The 2018 World Cup winner is now a free agent, with potential suitors in France, the Premier League, Saudi Arabia, and MLS, including David Beckham’s Inter Miami. Pogba’s future remains uncertain, but one thing is clear - his rollercoaster career has taken another dramatic turn.
