Fred, the Brazilian midfielder, has seen a decline in his status at Old Trafford, leading him to contemplate his future in the team. Manchester United, in turn, is open to selling the 30-year-old player, provided the right offer comes along.
Sources indicate that United is looking to receive an amount exceeding £20 million to part ways with Fred. However, despite interest from Galatasaray, their initial proposal fell short of United’s valuation and was subsequently rejected.
While several clubs have expressed interest in acquiring Fred’s services, the asking price set by United may pose a challenge. Fulham, for instance, have targeted the midfielder, but they have made it clear that they do not share United’s valuation of Fred.
Additionally, Fulham has other potential targets on their radar, including another Brazilian talent, Andre Trindade, a 21-year-old player from Fluminense.
Although Nottingham Forest has initiated contact with Fred’s representatives, they have yet to take their interest any further. Similarly, Roma has reached out to explore the possibility of signing the midfielder.
As of now, the most concrete interest in Fred’s services comes from a club in Saudi Arabia. However, it is uncertain whether the midfielder has made a definitive decision regarding his future at United this summer.
Despite making 56 appearances in all competitions last season, Fred started in only 23 of those matches. His playing time has faced increased competition with the arrival of Mason Mount from Chelsea, adding further depth to Erik ten Hag’s midfield.
