Manchester United star Antony is currently facing allegations of domestic violence, as his ex-girlfriend, Gabriela Cavallin, is reportedly preparing to report him to the police in the UK.
Despite the accusations, Antony denies any wrongdoing and firmly believes that his innocence will be proven.
Previously, Cavallin had filed a complaint against the £85million winger, which is under ongoing investigation in his native Brazil. The fresh claims made by Cavallin were first published by UOL, one of Brazil’s largest news providers.
Gabriela Cavallin, a well-known DJ and influencer with almost 500,000 followers on Instagram, alleges that she experienced aggression and threats while in a relationship with Antony during his time at Manchester United.
According to UOL, Cavallin’s lawyers are preparing a police report containing a 70-page document that presents alleged evidence against Antony.
Vanessa Souza, Cavallin’s lawyer, stated that the player sent threatening messages, locked her in his house, and subjected her to violence. In one instance, Antony allegedly caused an injury that required surgery to fix a displaced breast implant.
Cavallin also appeared on Record TV, Brazil’s second most-watched channel, and made further allegations against Antony.
Souza explained that she was contacted by Gabriela’s lawyers in Brazil to represent her interests with the Crown Prosecutor Service and the Manchester Police.
Previously, Cavallin had accused Antony of assaulting her four times in a complaint filed with the police in São Paulo. The case is still under investigation in Brazil.
In June, Antony addressed the allegations in a lengthy statement on his Instagram account. He stated that he remained silent until he provided his statement to the police, and emphasized his confidence in proving his innocence.
Antony expressed his disappointment with the prior and unfair public judgment based on false accusations, and stressed that justice will prevail after the investigation is concluded.
