Atalanta BC is looking to win their fifth consecutive game at the Gewiss Stadium when they face Udinese in Saturday’s Serie A round 22 match.
Match Preview:
Gian Piero Gasperini’s team has been in great form in front of their home fans, but they need to be cautious of Udinese, who haven’t lost against Atalanta since 2022.
Atalanta has been doing well even without Ademola Lookman, who is away for the Africa Cup of Nations. They have earned four points out of six in his absence, with a fantastic 5-0 victory over Frosinone being the highlight.
During their four-game winning streak at home, Atalanta has scored a total of 13 goals. However, it remains to be seen if they can score multiple goals against a team they haven’t defeated since January 2022 when they won 6-2 in Udine.
Udinese has managed to avoid defeat against Atalanta in their previous three encounters. Last year’s match ended in a goalless draw in Bergamo, a result that Atalanta hopes to avoid as they aim to move ahead of Fiorentina in the league table.
Udinese also hopes to continue their unbeaten streak against Atalanta, but they will need a performance similar to their victory at San Siro in November.
Although they have suffered two defeats and two draws since that win, they have shown that they can perform well on the road by earning nine points away from home.
Team News
Atalanta will still be missing Lookman, and they may also be without Hans Hateboer and Rafael Toloi due to muscle injuries.
Gianluca Scamacca, who hasn’t scored in Serie A since November 4, is expected to lead Atalanta’s attack, with support from Charles De Ketelaere and Teun Koopmeiners.
Udinese’s key player is Lazar Samardzic, but Lorenzo Lucca and Roberto Pereyra could also play important roles.
