Paris Saint-Germain have launched a bold move to sign two key Manchester United players, Jadon Sancho and Bruno Fernandes, as they look to rebuild their squad following the departure of Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid.
The French champions have made Sancho their primary target for the upcoming season and have already begun negotiations with the English winger’s representatives.
The 24-year-old is said to be “extremely excited” by the project presented to him by PSG and is close to agreeing personal terms.
United are reportedly open to selling Sancho for around £50 million, with two years remaining on his contract.
In addition to their pursuit of Sancho, PSG have also expressed significant interest in United captain Bruno Fernandes.
The Portuguese midfielder has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford for some time, with Bayern Munich also rumored to be interested.
However, Fernandes has previously stated his desire to stay at United and fight for the club’s ambitions.
The potential swap deal involving Sancho and Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte, who has agreed personal terms with United, could be a mutually beneficial solution for both clubs.
United have shown interest in Ugarte, and a swap deal could help facilitate the transfers.
While PSG’s interest in Sancho presents an opportunity for United to cash in on the player, it remains to be seen if their stance will change after Sancho and manager Erik ten Hag agreed to put their differences aside.
United paid around £70 million to sign Sancho from Borussia Dortmund in 2021, and they will likely demand at least £50 million for the winger.
The potential departures of Sancho and Fernandes could force United to accelerate their interest in Paris Saint-Germain attacker Xavi Simons, who is expected to leave the French club this summer.
The 21-year-old impressed on loan at RB Leipzig last season and could be seen as a long-term replacement for Fernandes.
