West Ham United is said to have entered the competition to secure the services of Perr Schuurs, a center-back from Torino, as per reports. Speculation surrounding the future of the Dutch player is currently rife, and he recently disclosed that there have been offers made for him.
Liverpool and Crystal Palace are among the clubs showing interest in the 23-year-old, who only joined Torino last August. The Evening Standard reports that West Ham is also in pursuit of the defender and considers him the perfect addition to their squad during this summer’s transfer window.
While an official approach has yet to be made by the Hammers, they have shown significant interest in the player. Schuurs is believed to be valued at around €40m (£34.2m) by his current Italian club.
On another note, Everton has intensified their efforts to secure the services of El Bilal Toure, a forward from Almeria, by making a £25m offer. The Toffees have identified the Malian international as their top target in the attacking third for this summer’s transfer window.
Toure impressed last season, finding the back of the net seven times in 21 appearances for Almeria. His performances have garnered attention, and he is likely to secure a lucrative move. However, Almeria is reportedly seeking a minimum of £34m due to the increasing interest in the player.
The 21-year-old started his professional career with Reims in France before making the move to Spain.
Moving on to Aston Villa, reports suggest that they have been presented with the opportunity to sign Barcelona midfielder Nico Gonzalez on loan for the upcoming season. The 21-year-old returned to Camp Nou after a loan spell at Valencia, where he made 26 appearances during the 2022-23 campaign.
Gonzalez is not expected to be part of Barcelona head coach Xavi’s plans for the next season, leading to speculation about his future. Villa has been contacted by the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes, regarding a potential loan deal for the upcoming season.
Having come through the youth system at Barcelona, Gonzalez made 37 first-team appearances for the Catalan club in the 2021-22 season.
Meanwhile, Villa is reportedly open to offers for French defender Lucas Digne this summer. The 29-year-old joined Villa Park from Everton in January 2022 and has represented the club in 47 games across all competitions, including 31 appearances last season.
However, according to the Daily Mail, Digne does not fit into Villa boss Unai Emery’s long-term plans. The left-back is one of the highest earners at Villa Park, which has motivated the club to seek a transfer. Napoli is among the numerous potential suitors for Digne’s services.
