Former Arsenal loanee Julio Baptista has recommended that Arsenal should consider signing Neymar, stating that the Brazilian star needs a “new atmosphere” after feeling too “comfortable” at PSG.
With rumors of PSG’s willingness to cash in on Neymar this summer, the Gunners could seize the opportunity to bolster their attacking options.
In an interview with Goal, Baptista expressed his belief that Neymar would benefit from a change of scenery and find the support and confidence he needs at a new club.
While acknowledging Arsenal’s recent struggles, the former player praised Mikel Arteta’s impact, suggesting that the club is constructing a powerful team under his leadership.
Baptista remarked, “In Brazil, we say that you have the house, you have everything, and you just need the key to open it. Maybe Neymar is the key to open and complete everything at Arsenal. He is an incredible player.”
Should Neymar make the move to the Emirates, he would reunite with fellow Brazilians Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, and Gabriel Magalhaes, whom he knows from the national squad. The addition of Neymar would offer Arteta another strong attacking option to bolster Arsenal’s frontline.
Despite interest from other clubs, including Chelsea and potential moves to Saudi Arabia or a return to Barcelona, Neymar’s potential transfer to Arsenal remains an enticing prospect.
Reports suggest that a move to Saudi Arabia could see Neymar earn a staggering £172 million per year, with Al-Hilal allegedly preparing a £38 million bid for the Brazilian.
For PSG, offloading Neymar would alleviate financial concerns and help comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.
Additionally, following incidents involving fans targeting Neymar’s and Messi’s houses in May, parting ways with the Brazilian could ease tensions with the fanbase.
