According to a report by the Daily Mail, the renowned football powerhouse Al-Nassr, home to Cristiano Ronaldo, has been hit with a ban on registering new players by the International Football Federation (FIFA).
The ban comes as a result of Al-Nassr’s failure to fulfill their financial obligations towards Leicester in relation to the transfer deal involving Nigerian striker Ahmed Musa. Sources indicate that the outstanding amount in question amounts to €460,000, which includes a performance-based percentage owed to Musa, formerly of CSKA.
As a consequence of their neglect, Al-Nassr will be prohibited from recruiting new players for a duration spanning three transfer periods. It is worth mentioning that this incident of unpaid fees occurred prior to the acquisition of the club by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF).
However, reports suggest that the organization is actively seeking to settle the debt in order to avoid further repercussions and prevent the implementation of the ban.
The ramifications of FIFA’s decision are far-reaching for Al-Nassr. As they look to strengthen their squad and compete at the highest level, they will face significant obstacles due to the restrictions imposed on player recruitment. This development may hinder their ability to secure top talent and potentially impact their performance in future competitions.
The focus now lies on Al-Nassr’s management and their commitment to resolving this financial predicament promptly. The club’s reputation, as well as its aspirations for success, are at stake. Taking into account the involvement of the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, it is expected that the necessary steps will be taken to rectify the situation and ensure compliance with FIFA’s regulations.
