Fulham and Everton will both seek redemption in their Premier League clash at Craven Cottage following their recent eliminations from the FA Cup.
Match preview
Despite Newcastle’s 14-day break before facing Fulham in the FA Cup, the Magpies’ performance at Craven Cottage was disappointing.
However, Fulham’s attacks were feeble, and they failed to beat Martin Dubravka except for a disallowed goal by Willian. Sean Longstaff and Dan Burn scored for Newcastle, and Fulham’s protests against Longstaff’s goal were in vain.
After suffering two cup exits in a week, Fulham’s main focus is securing a higher position in the Premier League table.
They have suffered four losses in their last five games, severely impacting their aspirations for a top-half finish. However, most of their points and goals this season have come at Craven Cottage.
Since defeating Everton on the opening weekend of the season, Fulham has struggled to achieve victories away from home.
Coincidentally, Everton also experienced disappointment in the FA Cup when they lost to Luton. This loss ended their unbeaten streak and clean defensive record since the start of the year.
Despite holding Aston Villa to a draw and winning against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup, Everton has only earned one point in their last 12 matches.
Everton has had success on the road this season, with more away wins than in the previous two campaigns combined.
However, they have lost four out of their last five matches against Fulham, including a penalty shootout defeat in the EFL Cup quarter-finals.
