Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly preparing to enhance their offer for Eintracht Frankfurt’s talented striker Randal Kolo Muani, as the player himself pushes for a move to the French capital.
PSG’s initial bid for the France international, valued at €60m (£51m) plus €10m (£8m) in bonuses, was turned down, according to reports.
However, L’Equipe states that PSG remains unwavering in their pursuit of the 24-year-old forward and is now getting ready to present Frankfurt with an increased offer.
While Kolo Muani is PSG’s primary target for bolstering their attacking force towards the end of the transfer window, it is uncertain whether they are willing to meet Frankfurt’s asking price, speculated to be around €100m (£85.5m).
According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the young forward has already agreed to a five-year contract with PSG under the management of Luis Enrique, and he is actively pushing for the completion of the deal.
Kolo Muani, who joined Frankfurt from Nantes last summer, delivered an impressive performance throughout the 2022-23 season, scoring 23 goals and providing 17 assists in 46 appearances.
The striker has carried his excellent form into the new season, finding the net twice in just two matches, including his team’s Bundesliga opener over the weekend.
Despite PSG’s interest, Frankfurt holds a strong position regarding the striker’s future, as he still has four years remaining on his current contract.
As it stands, Kylian Mbappe will continue playing for PSG this season, although there are rumors circulating that Real Madrid might make a substantial bid for him during the closing stages of the transfer window.
This summer has witnessed significant changes at PSG, with the departure of Lionel Messi and Neymar, while the attack has been reinvigorated with signings such as Ousmane Dembele, Marco Asensio, and Goncalo Ramos.
PSG’s performance in the 2023-24 season has been underwhelming so far, as they drew their opening two league matches against Lorient and Toulouse.
Previously, Enrique’s side was linked with a move for Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur, but the English striker ultimately joined Bayern Munich.
Moreover, PSG had shown interest in Marcus Rashford, but the forward recently signed a new long-term contract with Manchester United.
Looking ahead, PSG aims to secure their first victory of the new season when they face Lens on Saturday night.
