Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani’s offer to take over Manchester United is reportedly still available even after almost a year since the Glazer family expressed openness to discuss a potential sale of the club.
Despite having two possible buyers in the form of Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, uncertainty remains regarding the current owners’ plans due to a split within the Glazer family.
The British billionaire is considering purchasing a minority stake in Man United, while Sheikh Jassim is only interested in a 100% takeover with a commitment to invest in Old Trafford and the club’s training ground.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Sheikh Jassim’s latest offer, worth around £5bn, still remains on the table.
However, it is unclear if the Qatari would consider increasing his bid if the Glazers declare their asking price.
It has been suggested that the current owners value the club at £6bn but believe that a £10bn sale could still be possible in the future.
Despite initial expectations of completing the takeover earlier this year, the Glazers remain in charge, and protests against them have resurfaced during the 2023-24 campaign.
Meanwhile, Manchester United is struggling in the new season, losing six of its first ten matches in all competitions.
