Thomas Partey Arsenal January exit

Thomas Partey to Leave Arsenal in January Transfer Window

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey is reportedly eager to leave the club during the January transfer window, according to recent reports.

Partey, who joined Arsenal in a £45.3m deal from Atletico Madrid, has been with the Gunners for four seasons.

Despite making a total of 81 starts and 23 substitute outings, his playing time and influence at the club have decreased in recent months.

The 30-year-old has faced challenges, including a groin injury and being deployed at right-back in the opening three league matches of the 2023-24 season.

As a result, Partey has seen limited Premier League action and has not started a single league fixture in his preferred central midfield position this campaign.

With less than two years left on his contract, reports have emerged that Partey has informed Arsenal of his openness to a departure.

Juventus is reportedly the frontrunner to negotiate a deal for Partey, although a move to another Premier League club or a return to Spain are also potential options for the Ghana international.

Partey faces stiff competition for a starting spot at Arsenal, with the likes of Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard, Jorginho, Mohamed Elneny, Fabio Vieira, and Kai Havertz vying for positions in the midfield.

Currently sidelined with another injury, Partey’s future at Arsenal remains uncertain.
