3 Players Eyeing Manchester United Move after Mason Mount

In an exciting announcement on Wednesday morning, Manchester United unveiled their first summer signing, Mason Mount, who joins the club from Chelsea in a high-profile £55 million deal. The Red Devils are determined to strengthen their squad as they prepare for a return to the prestigious Champions League in the upcoming 2023-24 season.

However, with financial constraints in place, head coach Erik ten Hag’s spending power is limited, and the availability of funds may hinge on potential departures from the club. As a result, Manchester United is actively engaged in discussions regarding the recruitment of three additional players, aiming to bolster their squad further.

Andre Onana, the former Ajax and current Inter Milan goalkeeper, has emerged as a primary target for the Red Devils. Following the expiration of David de Gea’s contract on June 30, Manchester United urgently seeks a new number one shot-stopper.

Onana, who has worked under ten Hag’s guidance during their time at Ajax, has attracted significant interest from Old Trafford. Reports suggest that Manchester United has submitted an initial offer of approximately €45 million (£38.5 million), yet Inter Milan is holding out for closer to €60 million (£51.4 million) for the talented Cameroon international.

Onana showcased his skills last season, making 41 appearances for Inter and securing an impressive 19 clean sheets. Rejecting interest from Saudi Arabia, Onana yearns for a move to Manchester United, potentially making him their second signing of the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, the midfield department has already witnessed a significant boost with the arrival of Mason Mount. However, rumors persist that Manchester United may pursue another midfield acquisition, potentially due to the potential departures of Fred and Scott McTominay.

Sofyan Amrabat of Fiorentina has emerged as a strong candidate for the Red Devils. Fiorentina CEO Joe Barone confirmed the club’s openness to offers for the Moroccan international, and recent reports indicate that personal terms have already been agreed upon between Amrabat and Manchester United.

The 26-year-old showcased his talent throughout the 2022-23 campaign, making 49 appearances across all competitions for Fiorentina, contributing to their impressive runs in the Coppa Italia and Europa Conference League. Amrabat’s noteworthy performances during the 2022 World Cup further emphasize his potential value to Manchester United, particularly considering the relatively moderate cost associated with his transfer.

Lastly, Rasmus Hojlund, the talented Danish forward from Atalanta BC, has captured the attention of Erik ten Hag. The Manchester United head coach is reportedly driving the pursuit of Hojlund, urging the club to secure his services during the summer window.

Although Atalanta has rejected an initial bid of £30 million from the Red Devils, Manchester United is poised to increase their offer to £40 million to secure the young Danish talent. Hojlund enjoyed an impressive season with Atalanta, amassing 10 goals and 4 assists in 34 appearances across various competitions.

While it remains to be seen if he is ready to lead Manchester United’s attack consistently, the 20-year-old forward has already showcased immense potential during the early stages of his career.

As Manchester United continues to strengthen its squad, fans eagerly await further transfer developments and remain hopeful that additional signings will enhance the team’s chances of success in both domestic and European competitions.
